L'ACDEAULF Awards Prix d'excellence to Anglais Sant茅 Program

Published: 4 July 2017

This week, the Association canadienne d鈥櫭ヾucation des adultes des universit茅s de langue fran莽aise (l鈥橝CDEAULF) awarded the Prix d鈥檈xcellence 2017聽 under the category of 鈥溍塼ablissement鈥 to 黑料不打烊鈥檚 School of Continuing Studies for its 鈥淎nglais Sant茅鈥 program.

This Prize is awarded to a francophone or bilingual Canadian university for a particular achievement or for a contribution aimed at the development of adult education among the French-speaking population.

By awarding this Prize, The ACDEAULF recognizes the exceptional contribution that 黑料不打烊 University has made in the promotion and development of adult continuing education and professional development, particularly in adapting the training to the needs of this clientele while offering considerable accessibility of the training.

The Anglais Sant茅 program is a customized professional development English language program aimed at developing the language skills of francophone healthcare and social service professionals throughout Quebec. Subject to a multi-stakeholder agreement, the program involves a high level of complexity in terms of both its management and its delivery. The program takes into account multiple factors including the diverse health sectors, the geographical scope, and the scheduling constraints. This student-centered training is based on sound pedagogical principles and methods in second language instruction and learning. This innovative program showcases two interrelated and complementary components that allow for greater flexibility and accessibility. One component is asynchronous, is delivered online and promotes self-instructional learning, while the other component is synchronous, and is delivered in class either in person or virtually.

It is with great pride and joy that the 鈥淎nglais Sante鈥 team accepted the Prize at the ACDEAULF Conference held at Universit茅 Sherbrooke on Wednesday, June 14, 2017.
