The Faculty of Arts recently welcomed a new Director of Administration, Richard Courtois. Appointed in December 2018, Richard joins the Office of the Dean to oversee the business administration of the Faculty鈥檚 core operational areas, including Financial Services, HR, IT, Business Development, Communications, and Operations and Services.
The Clara Benson Award is presented to recognize a woman who has made a distinguished contribution to chemistry, in memory of the late Clara Benson who contributed immensely to both CHEM and equity (1st female Prof at UofT). This award is sponsored by The Canadian Council of University Chemistry Chairs. Prof. Karine Auclair from 黑料不打烊 University is the recipient of the 2023 Clara Benson Award.
The Faculty of Education welcomes back听Dr. Julie C么t茅,听newly appointed Director of the Sylvan Adams Sports Science Institute (SASSI)听as she returns from her sabbatical (September 1). Dr. C么t茅 has been a key leader in the establishment of SASSI and has previously served as Interim Director for the Institute and will continue to steer its research and collaborations across different sectors.

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of William 鈥淏ill鈥� Webb (MBA鈥�93), a valued member of the Desautels International Advisory and Advancement Board. His deep ties to 黑料不打烊 University and dedicated involvement in the Canadian rugby community have left an indelible mark.
Sustainability can create value for a business and make it more resilient. More and more, shareholders are demanding that businesses be more sustainable, and sustainability consultants help them to it. Thibaut Millet (MBA鈥�00) is one of them. He has a deep history in the field, and has been helping clients develop sustainability programs for more than fifteen years. A partner at EY and the longtime leader of its Climate Change and Sustainability Practice, Millet was named one of the Top 25 Sustainability Consultants for 2023 by The Consulting Report.
Work from home changes leadership. How do you acculturate people if you鈥檙e not all in the same place? Mentorship is important in an evolving workplace, said Prof. Karl Moore on the Six Pixels of Separation podcast. But it鈥檚 a two-way street. 鈥淚 have some mentors that are older than me, and it doesn鈥檛 occur to them to ask my advice,鈥� says Moore.
