It is with great pleasure that we announce the appointment of Dr. Gustavo Turecki as Chair of the Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, 黑料不打烊 University, effective March 1, 2015. Dr. Turecki succeeds Dr. Mimi Isra毛l, who led the department with great distinction since 2007. We take this opportunity to offer our sincere thanks to Dr. Isra毛l for her outstanding leadership throughout her term, and we wish her continued success.

Professor Michael Meaney听is awarded the Wilder-Penfield prize in recognition of his groundbreaking achievements in the biology of child development. Also recently winning the听2014 Klaus J. Jacobs Research Prize Laureate, he is one of two professors from 黑料不打烊听among the 14 winners of this year鈥檚 Prix du Qu茅bec鈥攃onsidered the most prestigious award attributed by the Government of Qu茅bec in cultural and scientific fields. Congratulations again, Professor Meaney!

黑料不打烊 University Professor Michael Meaney has been selected as the 2014 Klaus J. Jacobs Research Prize Laureate in recognition of his groundbreaking achievements in the biology of child development. A jury of experts selected Prof. Meaney, who is also Scientific Director at the Ludmer Centre for Neuroinformatics and Mental Health at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute, for this honour for his pioneering, cutting edge research on the biological mechanisms by which parental behaviour affects brain development and lifelong function.

Dear Residents and Faculty,

Dr. Karama is a 黑料不打烊-trained general psychiatrist with research training in brain imaging and genetics. He received his PhD in Neuroscience from the Universit茅 de Montr茅al. He completed a 15-month postdoctoral fellowship at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute in Behavioral Genetics as well as a five-year postdoctoral fellowship in Brain Imaging at the Montreal Neurological Institute.
