On Orange Shirt Day/National Truth and Reconciliation Day, September 30, 黑料不打烊 Faculty of Education held its fourth annual Sk谩tne Entewathah铆ta / We Will Walk Together event.


The Biomechanics of Occupations and Sports Lab members, supervised by Dr. Julie C么t茅, KPE, recently presented their Ph.D. research at international conferences! Each member who attended was awarded a Canadian Musculoskeletal Rehab Research Network 2022 Trainee Travel Award. Matthew Slopecki was also awarded a Canadian Society of Biomechanics Travel Award.

Dr. Charlotte Usselman, PI of the Cardiovascular Health and Autonomic Regulation Laboratory (CHARLab) in KPE, was the Early Career Keynote Speaker at the Ontario Exercise Physiology Conference in Alliston, ON (July 27-29, 2022).

Congratulations to KPE's Rachelle Aucoin for winning best oral presentation award at the Dyspnea 2022 meeting in Oxford, UK.
Rachelle, a PhD candidate in the Clinical Exercise and Respiratory Physiology Laboratory (Supervisor: Prof. Dennis Jensen), won for her presentation titled:
Impact of trigeminal nerve stimulation on measures of central inspiratory neural drive with implications for management of breathlessness: A systematic scoping review.

Prof. Dennis Jensen, from the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, was recently interviewed by the New York Times on why athletes choose cannabis for pain.
鈥淭here鈥檚 a lot of anecdotes, there鈥檚 a lot of individual athlete reports, but the research does not necessarily support or refute anything that they鈥檙e saying as of yet.鈥

Congratulations to KPE's Rachelle Aucoin for securing doctoral funding from the Fonds de Recherche de Qu茅bec Sant茅 (FRQS) and the Canadian Respiratory Research Network (CRRN)
Rachelle Aucoin, PhD Student in the Clinical Exercise and Respiratory Physiology Laboratory, has secured doctoral funding from both the Fonds de Recherche de Qu茅bec Sant茅 (FRQS) and the Canadian Respiratory Research Network (CRRN).
She was awarded a 4-year funding package from FRQS totalling $84,000 and a $10,500 scholarship from the CRRN.
