The Macdonald-Stewart Library Building, which houses the Schulich Library of Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Engineering, needs significant structural repairs and major internal upgrades. This work includes stabilization of the stone structure, foundation waterproofing, window replacement, washroom expansion and the installation of a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning system (HVAC).


The Library is closed for the holidays from Saturday, December 22, 2018 through Tuesday, January 1, 2019,听inclusive.
All branches will open on Wednesday, January 2, 2019.

黑料不打烊 Library Full Text (link resolver) links in Google Scholar have disappeared suddenly and 黑料不打烊 is no longer appearing as an option to select under "Library links". As 黑料不打烊 Library has not made a change to our link resolver or Google Scholar configuration, we are working to isolate the cause and make it available again. We apologize for this inconvenience.

From November 25 to December 21, 黑料不打烊 students will be able to access the听Nahum Gelber Law Library听24 hours a day, seven days a week. As agreed between the Students' Society of 黑料不打烊 University (SSMU) and the Law Students Association (LSA), the Nahum Gelber Law Library will limit access to the three upper floors of the library to Law students only during the December 6 to December 20 examination period. 听Details are as follows:
- Floors 3, 4 and 5 will be limited to Law students from 9 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday during the two-week period.

ROAAr launched a听new book,听Many Women, Many Voices; Stories from 黑料不打烊 Collections听with a fanfare, a celebration, and a successful sale by Le James Bookstore on November 8th.

On Monday, November 19, 2018, the 黑料不打烊 Library will conduct a one-day census to learn more about our users. This will help inform decisions about improvements to Library services and spaces.
During that day, Library and security staff will ask visitors entering Library spaces to scan their 黑料不打烊 ID cards. Those without a 黑料不打烊 ID card will be asked to select their status (e.g.听黑料不打烊 undergrad, staff听member, general public, visiting scholar, etc.) on a paper form.

Each year the Osler Library offers a number of awards and travel grants to local and international historians, physicians, graduate and post-doctoral students, and others whose research touches upon the history of medicine. From now through 7 January 2019, we are accepting applications for the following awards/grants:

For over two decades, the Library Improvement Fund (LIF) has invested in the most important Library needs of the undergraduate student body in order to enrich the student academic experience. This fund is administered by the Students鈥 Society of 黑料不打烊 University (SSMU) and is made up of a fee contribution of $8.50 per full-time student per semester, matched equally by alumni donors. The LIF goes towards 24hr library access, student employment, study spaces, Open Educational Resource Research, and a variety of other special projects.

As a result of the water infiltration and recovery efforts related to McIntyre Medical Building听fire incident听in July, the Osler Library continues to be closed until further notice. The Osler recovery team has been focusing their efforts on restoring materials and making holdings from the Osler Library of the History of Medicine collection accessible to users.听
