Dr. Robert Platt, Professor in the departments of Pediatrics and Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health at 黑料不打烊 University鈥檚 Faculty of Medicine was officially announced as the inaugural Albert Boehringer (1st) Chair in Pharmacoepidemiology during an event held May 26 at 黑料不打烊.
Antidepressant use in North America has increased over the last 2 decades. A suspected reason for this trend is that primary care physicians are increasingly prescribing antidepressants for nondepressive indications, including unapproved (off-label) indications that have not been evaluated by regulatory agencies.

Dr. Theresa Gyorkos has been named Director of the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) Collaborating Centre (CC) for Research and Training in Parasite Epidemiology and Control.聽 This is a renewable four-year designation based at EBOH.

As 2015 draws to a close, it is my pleasure to provide an update from the Department and some of the highlights of what has been a busy year for us. As usual, teaching and mentoring were at the center of our activities in 2015; a year which gave us ample opportunities to witness the high quality of our graduate students and the unwavering commitment of our professors to our students.
