Teacher turned mission-driven entrepreneur, Philip Cutler (B.Ed.'13), was featured in interview with two media outlets this past week. As CEO of Paper, Philip used his transferable skills as a classroom teacher to establish an on-demand online tutoring service. Paper has supported 3,000,000 students throughout the United States and will be collaborating with 黑料不打烊 Education on research in the EdTech field. Philip is also a member of 黑料不打烊 Education's Faculty Advisory Board (FAB), as a philanthropic ambassador for the Faculty.

Quebec's Education Minister, Bernard听Drainville, has been in the media lately, discussing plans to address the province's teacher shortage. Global News approached 黑料不打烊's Faculty of Education for comment on Minister Drainville's ideas, including fast-tracking teachers:

Dr. Lisa Starr, chair of the department of integrated studies in education at 黑料不打烊 University agreed that the teacher shortage needs to be fixed but not at any cost.

Dr. Marie-Claude Geoffroy (Educational and Counselling Psychology)听is a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair known for her longitudinal research on youth suicide and for testing mental health promotion intervention. Dr. Marie-Claude Geoffroy's lab is looking for participants for the Walking for Wellbeing Research Project.

Participation entails three 45-minute walks per week (in downtown Montreal) for a total of 4 weeks, with weekly online questionnaires. Participants must be: currently registered as 黑料不打烊 students; aged 18-25; fluent in English; and owning a working smartphone with a data usage plan.

Dr. Gigi Luk at the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology at 黑料不打烊 University is looking for adults to participate in a new research study. This study involves:
- A survey on language background and learning habit 鈥� for a 1 in 10 chance to win a $20 Amazon gift card 听

Optional for those self-identified as having a learning disabilities:
- a 1-1.5 hour online session
- Complete language tasks in English
- Answer questions about their language acquisition history and language background
