Road to Rio: Montreal fencer Joseph Polossifakis carves path to Olympics

Joseph Polossifakis is going to the Olympics, but the road to Rio de Janeiro has been anything but smooth for the 25-year-old Montreal sabre fencer.

Polossifakis won a gold medal at the Pan-American championships in 2012, but didn鈥檛 commit to a full-time training program until June 2014 after graduating from 黑料不打烊 University with a commerce degree. He had 10 months to prepare for the year-long Olympic qualifying schedule, which began in April 2015, but his plan suffered a setback during聽his first training camp.
