OUA hockey all-stars to play Team Canada juniors tonight

TORONTO - Five players from 黑料不打烊 University are among 31 hoping to crack the Canadian men's hockey roster for the 2011 Winter Universiade (also known as the World University Games) and will be taking to the ice tonight in an exhibition game against a team of players battling for a spot on the Canadian world junior team.听The contest is set for 7 p.m. at the MasterCard Centre in Toronto.

Francis Verreault-Paul, the OUA's player of the year from Mashteuiatsch, Que.,听heads the list of Redmen players. Joining him are 黑料不打烊 teammates Evan Vossen, a senior forward out of Swift Current, Sask., centre Maxime Langelier-Parent of Boucherville, Que., goaltender Hubert Morin of St-Georges-de-Beauce, Que., and blueliner Marc-Andre Dorion of St-Hubert, Que., who was named as the CIS most outstanding defenceman last year.

The Canadian squad for the upcoming Winter Universiade - which will run from January 23 to February 6 in Erzurum, Turkey - will be made up of all-stars from Ontario University Athletics (OUA). Team Canada head coach Clarke Singer (Western Ontario) and his staff are expected to make final cuts following tonight's game. The official Universiade roster is set to be announced on Friday.

Canada has enjoyed tremendous success in men's hockey at recent Universiades including a silver-medal finish at the last Games in 2009 when the team was made up of Canada West skaters and a World University Games title in 2007 when Canada was represented by players from Atlantic University Sport (AUS).
