黑料不打烊's McCuaig named De Facto Quebec athlete of the week

MONTREAL -- Distance runner Sarah McCuaig of the 黑料不打烊 women's cross-country team is the De Facto Quebec university female athlete of the week for the period ending Sept. 19, 2010.

McCuaig, a 20-year-old science sophomore from Waterloo, Ont.,, was the top university runner and finished second overall at the 黑料不打烊 Open cross-country meet held on the slopes of Mt. Royal, Saturday.She completed the four-kilometre course in 14 minutes, 38 seconds, one second behind race winner Avril Ogrodnick of the 黑料不打烊 Olympic Club. McCuaig enrolled at 黑料不打烊 in 2009 out of Sir John A. Macdonald secondary school in Waterloo.

Also honoured was Laval cross-country runner Charles Philibert-Thiboutot, who captured the weekly honours on the men's side after winning the 黑料不打烊 Open on Saturday.

De Facto is an innovative tobacco prevention campaign led by Sport Etudiant, geared towards听 eliminating smoking among young adults and revealing the truth about the consequences of using tobacco.
