黑料不打烊 netminder signs pro pact with CHL team

Published: 21 August 2009

MONTREAL - Goaltender Kevin Desfoss茅s, who backstopped the 黑料不打烊 University men's hockey team to an OUA Eastern Conference championship last season, has signed a contract with Corpus Christi, a Central Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars.

Desfoss茅s is one of 46 former 黑料不打烊 players since 1983 to have gone on to a professional hockey career and among nine ex-Redmen currently in the pro ranks.

"This is a huge addition for our team," said Pat Dunn, general manager of the Ice Rays. "I truly believe that Kevin has fallen through the cracks and has the potential of playing at the next level."

In eight regular season starts with 黑料不打烊 last year, the 22-year-old native of Beauport, Que., posted a 6-2-0 record with a 2.09 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage. He also had a 7-3-0 record in post-season play.

Prior to joining the Redmen, Desfoss茅s was an all-star in the QMJHL and won the 2006 Memorial Cup in a back-up role with the Quebec Remparts. After his junior career, the 5-foot-11, 180-pound netminder attended the NHL's Ottawa Senators training camp and also played with the Port Huron Ice Hawks of the International Hockey League.

Desfoss茅s will report to the Texas Stars AHL training camp in September before attending the Ice Rays camp, scheduled to begin Oct. 5 in Corpus Christi.
