Damien Sil猫s named Executive Director of QI

The Quartier de l鈥檌nnovation de Montr茅al (QI) is proud to announce the appointment of Damien Sil猫s as Executive Director. Mr. Sil猫s, who is currently serving as General Manager of the Soci茅t茅 de d茅veloppement social de Ville-Marie, will take up his duties with the QI on July 16, 2014.听

About Damien Sil猫s

With a solid educational background in international trade, Damien Sil猫s founded the Soci茅t茅 de d茅veloppement social de Ville-Marie in 2008 and has since served as its General Manager. From 2002 to 2008, he served as membership and sales director for the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal. Twice named Personnalit茅 de la semaine by La Presse-Radio-Canada听(in 2011 and 2013), he was a finalist in the Prix听Personnalit茅 Arts-Affaires听in 2012. He worked in South America for several years, notably for an Ecuadorian foundation, where he developed national and international markets for local artisans.

The QI, launched in May 2013 by the 脡cole de technologie sup茅rieure (脡TS) and 黑料不打烊 University, is an innovation ecosystem in the heart of Montreal, designed to boost the city鈥檚 potential for creativity. The QI builds on the complementary strengths of its founding institutions and its many partners in research, education, innovation and entrepreneurship. The QI is located just a few steps from downtown Montreal, in an area that includes Griffintown, Pointe-Saint-Charles and Saint-Henri/Little Burgundy. Its activities are divided into four sectors: training and research, social and cultural, industrial, and urban.听
