OTTAWA (CIS) - The University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds and 黑料不打烊 Redmen are once again ranked No. 1 and No. 2 this week in Canadian Interuniversity Sport men's hockey.

听

The V-Reds (17-0-4) top the rankings for the third straight week after receiving 16 of 18 first-place votes and 178 points from the national media panel, while the Redmen (21-0-2) remain second for a second consecutive poll after earning the remaining two first-place nods and 156 points in the voting.

听

The Western Ontario Mustangs (17-1-4) move up to a season-high No. 3 in the new Top 10, while the Alberta Golden Bears (13-5-2) fall to a season-low No. 4.

听

Rounding out the 11th weekly poll of the campaign are the reigning University Cup champion Saint Mary's Huskies (13-7-1), who stay put at No. 5; the UPEI Panthers (12-6-3), up one spot to No. 6; the Saskatchewan Huskies (11-7-0), down one position to No. 7; the Manitoba Bisons (10-4-4), who remain in eighth position; the Calgary Dinos (11-6-2), unranked a week ago; and the Lakehead Thunderwolves (14-7-1), who remain at No. 10.

It was business as usual over the past seven days for No. 1 UNB and No. 2 黑料不打烊.

The AUS-leading Varsity Reds extended their conference winning streak to seven games with a pair of 4-1 home victories over Saint Mary's and StFX (11-9-1), which was ranked ninth a week ago. UNB visits cross-town rival St. Thomas (3-15-3) on Friday night before travelling to Charlottetown on Saturday to face No. 6 UPEI.

The OUA-leading Redmen remained the lone undefeated team in the country in regulation (in conference play) with a 4-2 victory over Carleton (13-7-2) and a 4-0 shutout of archrival UQTR (15-7-1). 黑料不打烊 visits Concordia (12-10-1) Wednesday evening and Carleton on Saturday afternoon.

Western, which leads the OUA West division, went 1-1 last week including a 4-3 overtime win over Laurier (12-6-5) and a 5-4 shootout loss at Windsor (11-9-3). But despite dropping one of two contests, the Mustangs moved up in the national rankings thanks to a rare Alberta slip.

The Canada West-leading Golden Bears were swept by the No. 9 Dinos over the weekend, losing 3-2 in Edmonton and 1-0 in Calgary. It marked the first time Alberta lost both ends of a two-game series in conference play since January of 2008, also against Calgary. The Bears had since gone 41 straight conference doubleheaders without being swept.
