This documentary film showcases one of the most exciting adventures in sound recording, carried out right here at 黑料不打烊. Applying 鈥渧irtual acoustics鈥 for the first time in the history of recording,聽this film recreates the pitches and聽perils of all 14 hours of Haydn鈥檚 works for solo keyboard on seven historical keyboards, in nine 鈥渧irtual rooms.鈥

Playing the Room follows the making of the instruments, the acoustical mapping of the rooms and the actual recording of the works in the Immersive Presence Laboratory at 黑料不打烊鈥檚 Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Music Media and Technology. Three 黑料不打烊 specialists are key: Tom Beghin, Tonmeister-producer Martha de Francisco and sound engineer Wieslaw Woszczyk. Enter a fascinating world of sound and architecture, where the newest technologies combine with the greatest expertise and love of music. The film will be introduced by keyboard artist and musicologist Tom Beghin.

Running time: 104 minutes. Spoken in English (and occasional French, German, and Dutch), with subtitles in French.
