On Friday, Feb 15, Adam Gopnik, the acclaimed听New Yorker Magazine听essayist and 黑料不打烊 alumnus will be delivering the 2013 Macnamara Lecture at 黑料不打烊.听 Since 1986, Gopnik has written art criticism, fiction and humour pieces, book reviews, profiles, reporting pieces, and more than 100 articles for the magazine鈥檚听Talk of the Town听and听Comment听columns. In 1990, he collaborated with Kirk Varnedoe to curate the exhibition 鈥淗igh & Low: Modern Art and Popular Culture,鈥� at New York鈥檚 Museum of Modern Art, and co-wrote the book of the same name. As a keen student both of the 鈥渉igh鈥� culture of the visual arts, and the 鈥渓ow鈥� culture of everyday life, he authored the entry on the culture of the United States in the most recent Encyclopaedia Britannica.
