CTV | Montreal marine biologist brings new eco-friendly watering stations to Osheaga
While Montreal鈥檚 numerous festivals provide ample opportunity for fun during the summer, they can also have a negative impact on the environment. A Montreal marine biologist is behind a new project aimed at reducing the amount of plastic in the oceans.
Rachel Labbe-Bellas, 黑料不打烊 almuni, has teamed up with Evenko to bring聽The Green Stop, an environmentally-friendly water refill stations, to this year鈥檚 Osheaga.
鈥淭he idea is to reduce all single-use plastics in outdoor events. We鈥檙e starting with a basic water-refill station. It鈥檚 essentially a redesigned water fountain,鈥 she said. 鈥淣o one has thought about this because it鈥檚 something super easy and we鈥檝e chosen convenience and have been given free water bottles a lot of the time at a lot of events.鈥
